Who Can Join

Six teams consisting of 2 members each shall be chosen from all the applicants to attempt to replicate or even break the 1114kms-on-just-one-full-tank record of the legendary Pocholo Ramirez, following the same Pagudpud to Sorsogon route.

To qualify, you must meet the following set qualifications:

  • Each team must have 2 members: driver and co-driver.
  • Each participant must have at least 4 years driving experience, must have a valid driver’s license with no outstanding offense or record with the MMDA, LTO, NBI or the Police.
  • Each participant must be of good health.
  • Each team shall provide their own vehicle, which must qualify according to the parameters set in the XTRA MILE CHALLENGE Rules.

Application Requirements

If you think you are up to the challenge, just fill the online application form and give us your top 10 reasons why you are up to the Petron Xtra Mile Challenge, and you can be one of the six teams who will have the chance to beat the 1114kms record that racing legend, Pocholo Ramirez set in the Summer of 2005.

Pre-Qualification

Winners of the pre-qualifying round of the Fuel Xtra Mile Challenge will be determined by a panel of judges formed by Petron Corporation. Out of the qualified entries, 6 teams will be chosen to represent the areas of North Luzon (1), South Luzon (1), Metro Manila (2), Visayas (1) and Mindanao (1).

Criteria for Determination of the Six Teams

  • The 6 teams must pass the stated qualifications listed above.
  • The final contestants will be chosen by the panel of judges on the merits of answers for the question:
    "What are the top ten reasons why we are up for the Xtra Mile Challenge?"
  • Finalists must also pass a personal interview to gauge the team's credibility and commitment to take on the challenge.

Finalists

Upon selection and acceptance as an Official Entry in the competition, there will be a P30,000 cash incentive for each team. For the Visayas / Mindanao entries: round-trip transportation costs (including cargo charges for the competition vehicle) will be provided.

Cash Prizes

  • P 100,000.00 for the winning team with the farthest distance.
  • P 75,000.00 for the winning team with the 2nd farthest distance.
  • P 50,000.00 for the winning team with the 3rd farthest distance.
  • P 20,000.00 additional prize for team/s who drive past the 1,000km. mark.
  • Record breaker/s will get an additional cash prize of P50,000.00.
  • Record breaker/s will also get XTRA UNLEADED Gift Certificates amounting to P15,000.00
