Petron Fuel Drive
teaches fuel saving habits
posted 14 August 2007
With the record-setting distances established in the Xtra Mile Challenges, Petron, the country’s leading oil firm, is teaching ordinary motorists how to optimize their fuel consumption in the Petron Fuel Drive program.
A one-day driving clinic, the Petron Fuel Drive program begins with a short lecture by professional instructors from the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC), reviewing basic traffic rules and vehicle inspection tips. Racing legend Pocholo Ramirez and race driver Louis Ramirez then handle topics related to proper driving skills, focusing on how to improve fuel economy. The morning’s lecture is rounded off with a discussion on fuel specifications and octane rating requirements of various vehicle types.
The afternoon session is devoted to track sessions where Petron Fuel Drive participants practice the techniques discussed in the morning session. These include braking, making U-turns, slalom, and parking.
Open to all motorists, everyone interested in participating in the Petron Fuel Drive program is invited to go to Petron Macapagal northbound station at 6am-9am and Petron Macapagal Bluewave southbound station at 5pm-7pm on Friday, August 17, to participate in the stickering activity and sign up for the driving clinic which will be held on Saturday, September 01 at Sotto St, CCP Complex, Pasay City.
Petron Fuel Drive participants get P500 worth of Petron fuel gift certificates, shirts and gift packs. Special prizes are also given for perfect run, slalom, braking, and parking.
The next Petron Fuel Drive program is held in partnership with DZRH-Manila Broadcasting Company and the Honda Safety Driving Center.
