PETRON BAGS 7 GOLD QUILL AWARDS

Affirming its tradition of excellence in business communications, industry leader Petron Corporation bagged the most number of recognitions as it took home seven Gold Quill Awards from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)-Philippines recently. The company won four Awards of Excellence for its national student art competition ArtPetron, two Awards of Merit for its internal employee communications program An Hour with the Champion and one Award of Merit for its internal publication PETRONews.

“It is an honor to receive seven Gold Quill awards since this means that our programs are recognized as benchmarks in business communications. More importantly, these awards serve as an inspiration to all of us to aim for higher goals,” President Khalid D. Al-Faddagh said.

ArtPetron won four Awards of Excellence in the categories Multi-Audience Communication, Publications, Publications Design, and Special Project Design. Since its inception in 2000, the highly successful ArtPetron program has become a venue for young Filipino artists to showcase their talent and creativity while giving tribute to country’s rich traditions and national heritage.

The An Hour with the Champion program garnered two Awards of Merit under the categories Employee Member Communication and Electronic Interactive Communication. An Hour with the Champion is a lecture series by eminent business leaders that communicates the company’s core values and impart stories of excellence to employees.

The company’s internal publication PETRONews, meanwhile, which chronicles the company’s strategic transformation as it adopted a new vision and mission a couple of years ago, won an Award of Merit under the Publications category.

“By effectively implementing and communicating our company’s programs, we are able to enhance the Petron brand and strengthen customer loyalty,” Al-Faddagh concluded.

IABC is a network of professionals committed to improving organizational effectiveness through strategic communication. With more than 100 chapters, IABC serves 13,500 members in 60 countries and 10,000 organizations.

The Gold Quill Awards is considered the “Oscars” in the world of business communications.
