ArtPetron garners five Anvil Awards of Excellence

ArtPetron, the annual nationwide art contest of Petron Corporation, has been recognized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines with five Anvil Awards of Excellence, in the 42nd Anvil Awards held last February.

ArtPetron 6 earned the Anvil for the Program with Specific Stakeholders, recognizing ArtPetron’s objective to promote Philippine art, culture, tradition and values to the youth.

ArtPetron’s external publications were also granted marks of excellence: the ArtPetron Calendar, ArtPetron6 Collaterals, ArtPetron Coffee Table Book, and the ArtPetron Magazine – Folio.

The five Anvils for Excellence given to ArtPetron is an endorsement of the project’s ideals – reaching out and nurturing young Filipino artists. The awards also recognize Petron’s pursuit of excellence in its advocacies.

The Anvil is an award given by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), as a symbol of the highest level of excellence in the practice of public relations in the Philippines, by reflecting and promoting public interest, good values, and real public service.

Petron’s 7th National Student Art Competition is entitled “Alay sa Palatandaang Bayan” in celebration of the Philippines’ multi-racial heritage through landmarks and architecture such as lighthouses, bridges, monuments, town halls and other historic places.

The contest is open to students 15-28 years old, and will accept entries in 3 categories: oil/acrylic, watercolor/water-based media, and black-and-white photography. Deadline for entries is 26 July 2007 if submitted to Petron bulk plants nationwide, or 02 August 2007 if submitted to the ArtPetron Secretariat Office. For more details, visit www.artpetron.com.
