Petron recently introduced the New Generation Diesel Max, an improved formulation that
contains a multifunctional additive to provide unsurpassed detergency characteristics and
smoke control, improved diesel burning quality and fuel economy, as well as injection system
protection.
Fuel stability
The New Generation Diesel Max provides superior performance in low sulfur diesel
technology as it contains an effective anti-foam and demulsifi er which reduces foam build-up
and prevents water emulsions thus promoting fuel stability.
Protection against corrosion
The presence of water or moisture in the fuel can lead to corrosion in the fuel system, such
that rusted metal parts can cause leakage and fi lter clogging. The additive present in the New
Generation Diesel Max has been formulated to protect against corrosion in wet fuel systems.
Reduced exhaust emissions
The New Generation Diesel Max is a smoke-free and environment-friendly diesel fuel. First,
it is able to improve fuel injection system cleanliness by preventing residue build-up or by
removing deposits from the fuel system through its detergent action. The unique combination
of smoke and particulate reducing agents provide instantaneous smoke, particulate and
hydrocarbon reductions. Field tests show a signifi cant 7-13% reduction in exhaust emissions.
Better engine torque for superior acceleration
Torque is the turning or twisting force. When a piston is moving down on the power
stroke, it applies torque to the engine crankshaft (through the connecting rod). Engine torque
increases with engine speed and peaks at about mid-speed then decreases with rising engine
speed. Higher torque offered by fuel produces more engine power for better acceleration. The
New Generation Diesel Max exhibits a higher torque performance for all engine speed ranges,
with a 1-3% improvement in the brake torque performance.
More efficient combustion, more energy for maximum and smooth power
The New Generation Diesel Max contains a unique additive that creates a catalytic reaction
to produce a more complete burn of the fuel, thus promoting maximum and smooth power.
Because of the increased number of power cycles per unit time, power increases with engine
speed. Less vibrations are also observed with the New Generation Diesel Max, resulting in better
and smoother power performance.
Better fuel economy
Field tests conducted by Petron’s technical department show that on the average, the New
Generation Diesel Max delivers an improvement of about 2% in fuel consumption.
According to Petron technical department general manager Willy Toledo, “the New

keeps the engine clean, promotes fuel economy, exhibits better engine torque performance
