Petron
earns Gold Trusted Brand from Reader’s Digest

Petron, the Philippines’ leading oil company, was awarded a Gold Trusted Brand by Reader’s Digest in ceremonies held at the Manila Peninsula last April 25. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Petron has been granted the gold award in the ‘petrol station’ category of this prestigious Asia-wide consumer survey.

Petron advertising and promotions director Charmaine Canillas, on receiving the award, noted, “We are very happy to receive our eighth Reader’s Digest Gold Trusted Brand Award in eight years. Petron, as a local oil company, faces stiff competition from international oil giants backed by global marketing efforts. This award is a testament to discriminating Filipino consumers who recognize the value-added benefits we deliver on all our products and services, and who have continued to trust the proudly-Pinoy Petron brand over the years.”

Petron is the market leader in the local oil industry. Among its fuel brands are Petron Xtra Unleaded, Petron XCS Complete Combustion System, Petron Blaze, and Petron DieselMax. Petron automotive engine oils are marketed to consumers under the brand names Petron Ultron and Petron Rev-X. It also recently launched Petron Sprint 4T, a specially-formulated motorcycle oil.

For millions of homeowners nationwide, Petron Gasul is the trusted LPG brand for their cooking needs, while taxi drivers patronize Petron Xtend, the auto-LPG brand with the widest availability.

Offering even more value-added services and innovations, Petron also has Treats, its own convenience store brand, and Petron Care Care Centers for automotive service and repairs.

Reader’s Digest conducts an extensive consumer survey annually among its readers as well as the general public to determine the winners of Trusted Brand awards in a wide range of categories. Respondents are asked to vote for the brand they trust in terms of trustworthiness, credible image, quality, value, understanding of customers’ needs, and innovativeness.

The Reader’s Digest Asia Trusted Brands Survey (previously known as Reader’s Digest SuperBrands) was launched in 1999 and has been carried out annually for the past ten years by The Nielsen Company. Brands which score clearly above competitors receive a Gold Trusted Brand Award.
