All twelve millionaires have been chosen in the Petron Sandosenang Milyonaryo promo, with the last six P1-million checks awarded in simple ceremonies at the Petron Cultural Hall last September 28.
Tomas Vargas, of Quezon City, sells cleaning systems for food manufacturing plants, food service outlets, fastfood centers and restaurants. The 55-year old businessman claims to be a loyal Petron customer, and is particularly pleased with the new Petron XCS Complete Combustion System. According to Vargas, the new formulation has improved the performance of his 10-year old car, with noticeably smoother acceleration and fewer maintenance problems.
Another lucky winner from Quezon City is Mario Moreno, Jr., an agency driver who lost his job in August. Luckily, he had texted in his entry when he fueled up with Petron Xtra Unleaded two weeks earlier. With his P1-million winnings, his wife, Alma, and their three children, are assured of a brighter future.
James Chua Tan of Davao City could not believe he was a Petron millionaire when he was first notified of his win. The 43-year old auto supply parts manager says he has always been a loyal Petron customer and fuels up only with Petron DieselMax.
Rebecca Lafuente traveled all the way from Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, to claim her P1-million cash prize. A sari-sari store owner, the 32-year old Lafuente buys Petron fuel products in bulk, as they live in a remote area. Their winning receipt covered purchases of DieselMax for their truck; XCS for the tricycle which they use for peddling activities; and Gaas (kerosene) which they resell in their sari-sari store.
The general manager of a dairy cooperative, Romwel Escraman, of Talisay City, Cebu, says their company vans fuel up on Petron DieselMax. With his wife, Allen, expecting their first baby, this 35-year old chemical engineer is very happy to be a Petron millionaire. He says 10% of his winnings will be offered back as thanksgiving, while the rest will be invested in their small business as well as a house.
Leonardo Avelino, a 54-year old grocery store owner from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, regularly uses Petron DieselMax for his Isuzu Crosswind. With children still in college, Avelino considers his win a windfall, answering his family’s prayers for financial security.

Running from May 7 to September 6, 2007, the Petron Sandosenang Milyonaryo was the biggest ever sales promotion offered by oil industry leader Petron Corporation. In addition to the P1-million cash prize for each of the 12 lucky grand prize winners, Petron buyers also won discounts and gift certificates such as P100/P500/P1,000 SMS gift certificates for fuel purchase, P50 SMS gift certificate for 11-kg gasul refill or lubricant purchase, and P10 SMS gift certificate for 1-liter or 500-ml Treats water.
