holds 1st Sprint 4T Endurance and Economy Run

Glenn Mora, riding a Honda XRM 110, registered the best fuel economy results of 52.79 kilometers per liter at the 1st Petron Sprint 4T Endurance and Economy Run held last January 3-4, 2009.
An endurance and fuel economy run aimed at testing consistent engine performance and fuel efficiency in a long-distance marathon run, the 1st Petron Sprint 4T Endurance and Economy Run was open to motorcycles of all classes – 100cc and above – to participate in the grueling 1,000+ kilometer run which started at a Petron Service Station in Diego Silang, C5 Road, traveled through the North Luzon Loop, and ended at Baguio City.
Glen Mora clocked in 23.68 hours coming up to Baguio with a fuel economy rate of 52.79 KM/L on a Honda XRM 110, coming out victorious in Class 1 (100-115cc). Malvin dela Cruz, on board a Suzuki Shogun 125, managed to arrive at Baguio City after 22.42 hours at a 50.95 KM/L fuel consumption average, garnering a first place finish in Class 2 (116-125cc). Other winners include: Class 3 (126-150cc) – Jade Lazaro , Yamaha SR150, 49.65 KM/L, 22.92 hrs; Class 4 (151-250cc) – Allan Victor, Honda TMX155, 49.25 KM/L, 22.58 hrs; Class 5 (251-599cc) – Dennis Opina, Suzuki Skywave 400, 26.86 KM/L, 20.37 hrs; Class 8 (1000cc and over) – Evangel Mercado, BMW 1130GS, 25.99 KM/L, 18.83 hrs.
Out of 191 entries, 94 finishers made it to Baguio City as of the cut-off time of 9:00 am on January 4, thirty hours after the take-off. DOTC Asst. Sec. Reynaldo Berroya, national president of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines (NFMCP), flagged off the entries with the assistance of Gen. Fernando Pace, president of the Law Enforcers Riders Association of the Philippines (LERAP). All entries were required to submit to inspection for compliance with safety standards for both motorcycle and riding gear.
